Avgvstvs Chardonnay Penedes 2007

Varietal: 100% Chardonnay

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: The fruit is hand-harvested and then pressed. Must goes through alcoholic fermentation in new French oak (Nevers) barrels before the wine is left on its lees in the same barrel to undergo malolactic fermentation. It is in the barrel for a total of 4.5 months before being bottled.

Notes From The Winemaker: A wine with great structure and a lot of personality. There is an opulent nose followed by ripe tropical and citrus fruit flavors on the palate with notes of vanilla and toast. Creamy round mouthcoating flavors with a long persistent finish. Ideal with cheeses, especially goat, fish grilled or served with a sauce, shellfish, foie, and dried fruits.

Reviews: Wine Advocate called this the best Chardonnay he’s ever tasted from Penedes.
