Baronia del Montsant Flor d'Englora Monstant 2007

ITEM # ENGF07

Varietal: 63% Red Grenache, 32% Carignen, 3% Merlot and 2% Syrah

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: Grapes are manually picked before being destemmed, lightly pressed and hand-carried to tanks. Must is fermented and self-macerated on the lees in stainless steel tanks before undergoing malolactic fermentation.

Notes From The Winemaker: The Englora's name comes from about one of the emblematic top of the Montsant's Mountain Range, which tops highs more than 100 mts above sea level. Our logotype is an abstract and personal representation of the mentioned top. It is the youngest wine of our family. We have tried with this wine to boost the fruit and floral notes of every variety of grapes. The grapes for this elaboration come from aged vineyards: 35 year old Grenches, 25 year old Carignens and 15 year old the rest of the varieties. The yield per hectare is very low: 2kg per plant in Grenache and Carignen and 3kg per plant for the rest of the varieties. Regarding the culture works, very strict winter and spring prunnings have been conducted. High scores in guides and some taste remarks of national and international magazines.
