Domaine Armand Hurst Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes Alsace 2008

ITEM #HPNVV08

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: The fruit is sourced from southward facing vineyards with granite soils. The vines have an average age of 50 years. The wine goes through a cold soak prior to fermentation. Sugar fermentation occurs in stainless steel while malolactic fermentation occurs in small oak barrels. 90% of the barrels are 1 or more years old, 10% are new oak barrels. Prior to bottling the wines are barrel aged for 6 months.

Notes From The Winemaker: Rich dark berry fruit wrapped in spices; great, lively acidity with a long smooth finish.
