Domaine Frédéric Lornet Chardonnay Cuvée Messagelins Arbois 2007

Varietal: 100% Chardonnay

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: The Cuvee Messagelins comes from a small 2-acre parcel with vines with 35 years of age or older. The fruit is sourced from 35 year old vines. 100% destemmed, pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine spends 6 months sûr lies with regular stirring. Some natural CO2 is retained during this process to reduce the use of sulfites. The wine is racked and then transferred to 3000 litre oak foudres for a minimum of one year. The wine is lightly fined and then filtered with diatamatious earth. Estate bottled.

Notes From The Winemaker: Extremely concentrated and well balanced, this wine exhibitis tropical fruit harmoniously balanced with lively acidity and a backbone of toasted oak. Smooth and long on the palate, a wine with ageing potential.
