Spain: Ribera del Duero

                     Valdrinal

In 2000, David Cuéllar created Bodegas Surco to produce high quality, reasonably priced quantities in small quantities in Ribera del Duero. Producing an average of 10500 cases per harvest, David, alongside oenologist, Ignacio de Miguel, control 25 hectares of vineyards with vines varying in age from 18-30 years. The vineyards which feature limestone soils rich in silica and calcerous elements profit from an ideal continental climate mellowed by the Atlantic currents as well as from the river Duero. Bodegas Surco features a unique “barrel park” composed of 530 barrels where no 4 barrels will be the same.
