Talisman Red Dog Pinot Noir Sonoma Mountain 2006

Item # TRDPN06

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

Viticulture & Vinfication Notes: Low temperatures and clay soils moderate vine vigor. Fruit is hand-picked. Clusters are partially destemmed before undergoing native fermentation. Barrell-aged in new and two year old French oak for 18 months. 502 case production.

Tasting Notes From The Winemaker: This wine is truly reflective of its

mountain origins. This is a dense, large-scale wine that manages

to achieve balance within the framework of a substantial structure.

Nose of red fruit compliment flavors of dark fruit, with hints of violets and Asian spices. Smokiness and minerality set the stage for fine-grained, mouth-coating tannins.

Pinot Report: 94 Points. Medium-deep ruby color; tight, bit closed,

but with dark berry and spice notes; rich, deep and complex though

a bit closed; dark cherry and earthy spice notes; some tannin and

toasty oak; good structure and balance; long finish. A complex,

big style with a lot of interesting indications below the surface

that with some time this will bloom into a terrific wine.
