Viu Manent Reserve Malbec Colchagua 2008

ITEM # VMRM08

Varietal: 100% Malbec

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: The grapes were sourced from San Carlos vineyard featuring 45 year old vines in free-draining alluvial loam/clay soils. At harvest the fruit was hand-selected and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then wine was then barrel aged in 80% French and 20% American oak for 14 months.

Notes From The Winemaker: Intensely purple in colour, on the nose this wine exhibits exuberant notes of currant, plum, dark chocolate and mocha. In the mouth opulent notes of boysenberry, leather and tar marry with firm yet round tannins to give a long, generous finish. Great with grilled lamb chops, a hearty osobuco stew or roast venison accompanied by grilled Portobello mushrooms. Also delicious with creamy blue cheeses such as Roquefort.
