Chateau Biston Brillette Moulis en Medoc 2004

ITEM # BBMR04

Varietal: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot

Viticulture & Vinification Notes: Aged in 25-35% new barrels for 12 to 14 months.

Tasting Notes From The Winemaker: Rich dark color. An energetic wine with a fresh and floral nose. Well-defined palate; smooth, fruity, with generous flavors. There is a great balance of roundness and freshness.

Wine Spectator Magazine: 85 Points. Straightforward, with currant and berry character, medium body and a delicate finish.

Decanter Magazine: In the release of the new Cru Bourgeois rankings, Decanter awarded Biston Brillette as one of the top 20 wines in the competition.

The Bordeaux Atlas: This is a very reliable wine -- not the least because of the strict selection process. This Moulis is made in a fairly classic style -- fragrant, elegant, with a firm core and good tannins, plus ripe blackcurrant and flattering smoky oak from a 15-month stay in wood (about a third of the barrels are new), and a fine balance.

La Revue de Vin de France: Awarded special recognition in its
evaluation of all the Cru Bourgeois wines.
